IRS Tax Problem Management

man talking to clients
Don’t ignore your IRS tax problems, -it’s not going to go away with time and their systems will always remember you’re out there and owe them money. Ignoring the issue will only make it worse. A lot of people we see with these problems are terrified, stressed-out, and have no idea how to approach solving their problem.

We can definitely help you.

The IRS doesn’t intimidate us, -we routinely deal with them and always know the best path to resolve problems in the favor of our clients.
Failing to deal with an IRS debt results in interest and penalties. The IRS can garnish your wages, take money from your bank account, and in some cases seize your assets. The IRS has significant power to collect on its debts. We can help solve your tax problems AND prevent harsh collection methods.

We can offer you a variety of services to either eliminate or settle your IRS tax debt. Why not leverage all of our experience with the tax code and let us handle your tax problem for you. Here are just a few of the possible solutions that we utilize to solve tax problems for our clients.

Installment Agreement
  • If we find that, in fact, you legitimately owe the IRS money (which is not always the case), we will negotiate with them a reasonable payment plan that allows youto pay back your debt and still live your life. This enables you to stop the interest and penalties and stop their process of asset seizure.

Innocent Spouse Relief
  • Let’s say that you are or were married to someone who didn’t pay their IRS tax liabilities. The IRS can and often does try to come after both spouses, -especially if you file your taxes jointly as a married couple. The IRS debt doesn’t have to be your fault for them to seek payment from you.
  • The IRS has measures of relief it can grant to unwitting spouses in these cases, but you need an advocate to make your case effectively. We can and will help you verify that your case is eligible for this type of relief. If so, we can get you off the hook for the liability.

Offer in Compromise
  • Let’s say that you do, in fact, owe the IRS a lot of money. Do you have to pay it all back to them? No, not necessarily. If you have a skilled advocate on your side (which we are) then a persuasive case can be made that there is an opposing view where you actually owe the IRS less than they are claiming. The IRS is often willing to take something less than what they originally claimed in order to settle a debt on their books and move on to the next delinquent taxpayer. The process of getting the IRS to agree to a compromise is called an Offer in Compromise. There is an art form to developing this argument and making the compromise offer. If this works for your individual situation, we can help you.
